KINONDONI District Commissioner (DC), Mr
Paul Makonda, has said that the council has set aside 2.8bn/- this
financial year for youth and women projects.
Mr Makonda made the announcement when launching BM Hair and Beauty Clinic services in Dar es Salaam.
He said the municipality has for a long
failed to set aside such money, making it difficult for women and youth
groups to access the facility.
Mr Makonda challenged youth and women to form groups so they can start enjoying the funds for development projects.
He advised the groups to turn the challenges they are facing into opportunities to create employment if they are to excel.
Mr Makonda said most hair salons failed
to develop for lack of discipline and customer care. “You find most of
the hair and beauty salons are actually talking shops, thus chase away
customers who care for quality services,” he said.
He challenged the sector operators to
borrow from BM Hair and Beauty Clinic by aiming at excellence and
discipline to meet the market needs and customer demands.
Earlier, BM Hair and Beauty Clinic
Managing Director, Mr Benno Chelele, called on the financial sector to
look into the possibility of investing in the sector as it was one of
the growing fields.
“They should issue loans to this sector
as well since it is growing, thus huge investments are needed to meet
the growing market demand,” said Mr Chelele
